Shaun Hayman, aged 34, was found lying in the hallway of his flat in The Pungle, Westhoughton, on
Sunday.
His mother, Angela, had become concerned after trying unsuccessfully to make contact with him, and
his brother Paul called police after being unable to get into the flat.
One of three brothers, Mr Hayman was also an uncle to Paul's daughter Mya, aged two, and son
Lucas - born just a day before the tragedy.
Paul Hayman, aged 32, said: "Shaun had so many friends - he was a lovable sort of bloke and a
great mate to people.
"He was wonderful with Mya and with his friends' children - it is a shame he never got to
see Lucas."
Shaun was last seen celebrating a friend's 50th birthday at his local pub, The White Horse, in
Bolton Road, Westhoughton, on Saturday night.
He had set up the pub's darts team and helped manage its football team.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the
incident is not being treated as suspicious. The file has been passed to the coroner."

Its difficult to accept and believe that Laurette and I will never get to see you again in this lifetime and that you will never get to meet our Liam and Danielle....Although we are many miles away the sadness that we feel in losing you is beyond words and explanation. We mourn your passing and pray for strength for your loved ones to enable them all to come to terms with it. We are not in a position to question why but the only thing we are left to do is to trust that you are at peace and have been re-united with your dad in heaven. Lots of love and strength to the family.
We were really shocked to hear about your death and still find it hard to believe you have gone, we will miss you so much you were such a lovely bloke and made freinds with everyone you met. Lots of love to your family xxxxxx

I just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry for the loss of your son, nephew, uncle. Sometimes making sense of this world is impossible to do. Getting through each day seems a greater feat than your heart can handle, just unbearable. I just wanted you all to know that I am so sorry and am thinking of you from across the ocean, wishing you only the best.
